Friday Photo Roundup

In which I post my daily photos in an attempt to be more mindful (#9).

I’m so pleased with this goal so far — it is really forcing me to have some perspective, especially when things have felt so busy and hectic. This week in particular is house-work heavy, but it feels great to see how far we’ve come in just a week. I really didn’t remember where we were in these processes at the beginning of the week — it gives me a whole new rush of energy before this long weekend’s work!

Sept. 28 – The hubs starts the long process of pulling down the backsplash the previous owners added to the kitchen. We didn’t love the tiles in combination with the cabinets and counters, and I didn’t love the shortcuts they took in putting it up. Coming down!

Sept. 29 – With the guest bathroom looking promising, I turned my attention to re-staining the vanity in our master bath. This is the “before” picture, which I forgot to take in the guest bath.

Sept. 30 – Matt unpacking our new tool — a Dremel rotary tool with a special attachment and bit to tackle the backsplash grout.

Oct. 1 – Sometimes you have to end a long night of manual labor with a cup of tea and a slice of pie. I didn’t make the rules, I just follow them.

Oct. 2 – Tackling the backsplash!

Oct. 3 – We had t take some time off in the new house to clean our rental house spic-n-span so that people can come and tour it so they can rent it out again. I resented having to spend the time on this, and I am a little irked at the whole process, but hopefully we can ride this wave of cleaning until we are ready to move!

Oct. 4 – The hubs continuing to work on the backsplash — it looks like way more progress this week than I’d realized!

  1. I find myself short on words here… I think these photos are so great! And imagine when you look back at them…

It may not mean much, but I’m proud of you guys! And my voice may not drown out the parental units, but I’m impressed and super excited for you. (And my new room 🙂
